Fatty Liver Disease – Causes, Symptoms, & Holistic Solutions

Many of us ignore the problem of Indigestion, Bloating, constipation, acidity. But this can be really disastrous to our health.

One of the major reason of Indigestion is Weak Liver functioning due to Fatty Liver disease.

Fatty liver disease is a condition wherein excess fats gets deposited in Liver tissues hampering the normal functioning of the Liver.

Alcoholic Fatty Liver Diseases (AFLD) and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Diseases (NAFLD)

Fatty liver disease: It is Mainly of Two Types:

Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (AFLD): Where Patient is in the habit of taking excessive quantity of Alcohol on a regular basis. Liver has to break alcohol and the byproducts generated during Alcohol metabolism injure the liver by increasing Fat accumulation, inflammation and fibrosis.

Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD): This is the most common type which occurs in people who do not consume Alcohol but are fatty, have sedentary lifestyle, Diabetic, and have high cholesterol & high triglycerides.

In both types if not checked, there is a risk of Liver inflammation & scarring of liver leading to complete damage of Liver Cells.

1. Detoxification- cleaning of all the harmful chemicals generated through wrong diet & lifestyle, medicines intake, alcohol & drug abuse.

2. Helping Digestion- It aids in digestion & metabolism.

Symptoms of AFLD & NAFLD

There are not much prominent symptoms but patient may feel abdominal discomfort, flatulence, bloating, irregular bowels, nausea, fatigue etc.

Investigations Needed – Liver function test & Ultrasound whole abdomen can reveal the damage to liver.

If not treated AFLD & NAFLD can lead to Liver Fibrosis, Liver Cirrhosis and ultimately complete liver damage wherein only Liver transplant remains the option.

So it’s really important for every one of us to take well care of our digestion and liver.
